Music

Outdoor Service.jpg

On Sunday morning, calming music will prepare you to worship.  After the welcome, the Processional Hymn is announced, and the organ will introduce you to the tones and rhythms necessary to raise our collective voices in worship.  The collective first breath and ensuing songs draw us together as we make a joyful noise to the Lord!

Our congregational music follows the traditional Episcopal hymnals, and we frequently incorporate varying styles.  On any given day, you may hear a Baroque organ voluntary, an African-American Spiritual, traditional hymns, ancient chants, and contemporary worship music -- there's something here for everyone.

Music is led from our organ, installed in 1989.  This M.P. Moller pipe organ has two manuals, 13 ranks, and 876 pipes.  To learn more, click here!  Children and curious adults are welcomed to tour the organ at any time -- just reach out to Colin (colin@allsaintsvb.org) or ask him at church!

All are welcome to participate in our music programs, regardless of skill level or perceived "talent."  Your voice will be a welcome addition to our choir!

Children's Choir meets on Sunday mornings at 9 am right before Muffin Club.  Enjoy adult formation while your child learns more about sacred music in a fun way.  Children perform a prepared choral anthem multiple times in church throughout the year.

Adult Choir rehearses on Wednesday nights at 7 pm.  The choir prepares an anthem from various traditions and styles to perform for every service.

The Foxwell Fellowship augments our choir with four singers from high schools and colleges in the local area, who in turn receive a small stipend and gain mentorship, experience, and performance opportunities in Sacred Music.  Applications for the Foxwell Fellowship are considered on a rolling basis, and an audition is required.  Apply here today!
