Parish Life

Parish Life is where connection, care, and celebration come together. Whether it's writing cards, sharing meals, or gathering for music in the garden, this ministry helps knit our church family together in love, support, and joy.The Parish Life Commission helps lead this work—offering care to those in need, organizing fellowship opportunities, and working closely with other commissions to support the full life of our parish.
Caring for One Another

Card Ministry
Our Card Ministry team, in coordination with the rector and other parishioners, sends handwritten cards to members who are feeling disconnected, going through a hard time, or who just need a reminder that they’re loved. It’s a simple but powerful way we stay connected and care for one another.

Because We Care
This ministry offers hands-on support for parishioners in all kinds of life moments. From care packages for new parents or college students, to meals for those recovering or grieving, Because We Care reminds us that being part of this church means you’re never alone.

W.C. Family
Each quarter, members of our parish visit with those who live at Westminster Canterbury, sharing a meal together to nurture connection and belonging. About six parishioners—always including at least one vestry member, clergy person, or staff member—join WC residents for dinner right in their community, so even those who can’t come to church in person still feel deeply part of our parish family.

Funeral Receptions
In times of loss, our Funeral Reception Team offers comfort through hospitality. This dedicated group plans, organizes, and hosts receptions after all funerals held at the parish, providing homemade food and a welcoming space for families and friends to gather, grieve, and be cared for. It’s a quiet but powerful expression of love.
Celebrating Community
(and Having Fun Together)

The Parish Life Commission also coordinates the events that bring us joy, laughter, and togetherness throughout the year.
Coffee Hour & Seasonal Gatherings
From weekly coffee hours after church to big annual events, we love creating space for connection. The commission organizes:
-
Our beloved Parish Picnic in June
-
Homecoming Sunday in September
-
All Saints’ Day celebration in October
-
And other special moments that bring us together
Acoustics in the Garden
In the summer, we host Acoustics in the Garden—a relaxed, outdoor gathering featuring music from parishioners and local musicians. It’s a beautiful way to connect, rest, and enjoy the gifts of our community under the open sky.
